Gay Pride March Or Christopher Street Day, Part II

Let's go back to the gay parade in Berlin. "Fair play for diversity" this was a slogan of the 33rd Christopher Street Day that took place the day before the Women Football World Cup. The main message of the event was directed against homophobia in sport. About 700 thousand people gathered in Berlin streets to look at the colorful and exciting parade.
Activists prepared posters.
And rainbow flags.
The history of the Christopher Street Day started on the 27th of June, 1969 in New York, when representatives of sexual minorities openly opposed discrimination in Christopher Street. Since then gay parades are held in summer in many cities all over the world.
A view from the Victory column. In this panorama it is clearly seen that the march stretched for several kilometers.

This year the procession that consisted of 54 carriages was again headed by the governing mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit that came to the parade in a sports suit and was accompanied by his partner Jörn Kubicki. As before homophobia remains a problem in various spheres of public life, and as Wowereit said, people should fight with this phenomenon.
A gay parade is a big city carnival. It involves not only gays and lesbians. The majority of participants are people of the traditional orientation.

Many people wrongly consider that gays promote something at their parades. But it is not true. Gays propagandize nothing. They only call for a tolerance for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders, they also demand for a respect of human rights and civil equality for all people regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Homosexuality is not handed down. A homosexual child may be born in a typical heterosexual family. And an education is not the matter. This is not a disease, it can not be cured, and it is impossible to catch it.
There were many people in suits with nothing to do with the gay subject.
