The UN headquarters at New York is a complex on spacious ground. Even though it is in New York, it is considered to be in international territory. It was completed in 1952. The headquarters appears in many Hollywood movies since it is a place where International decisions are made. Protests and gatherings are also a part of life in this complex. People come from all corners of the world to protest against and support various interests. Tourists are also part of the pilgrims that frequent this complex. Currently the UN headquarters building is a pitiful site since it is under repair.
In front of the building are the 192 flags of the member states of the organization.
This sphere is a look alike to the one located at the Vatican by the sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro. One can start collecting photos of them since they are not only in New York and the Vatican. Such have been constructed in other major cities too.
This photo is a must have for anyone who has been to the UN Headquarters.
